BERG – one of my favourite companies and a constant reminder of the power of connecting thinking and delivery, has in collaboration with Future Cities Catapult developed a fantastic concept for yet another amazingly interesting product – a cloud connected display system for use in different emerging network applications.
The ‘Pixel Track’ uses a scanning mechanism for updating pixels, meaning that the display consumes no power when it remains static. Pixel track is controlled directly from the cloud and actuated by a small passive electro mechanical ‘train’ component – similar to a toy railroad – that moves across the pixel track in order to update each individual pixel directly, rather than a large array of circuits and leds.
I’d love to see Pixel Track become commercially available today! 🙂
