Well, SHiFT isn’t happening this year… and yeah, believe me no one’s more sad about it than myself, well may two other crazy guys! But we couldn’t stand still so we’re helping SAPO in an astonishing event:

and trust me, we’re all aiming high, as high as we’re allowed to get all the Portuguese developers an amazing event, party and mash-ups contest!
The event is obviously inspired in the Yahoo Hackday which totally contagious us back in May in London when some of us managed to attend it. Since not all Portuguese can afford traveling as far, SAPO decided to recreate it!
We’re trying to include everyone that wishes to go, but since the seats are limited, I urge everyone who praises for his/her geekiness without shame to register at:
Time as come for all of you geeks in the closet to come out, so I really hope we can all meet up in November in Lisbon!!

It’s not just visually impressive, if Scrybe turns out to be everything the video promises, I think we’ll have a new calendar/organizer winner, and all from the confront of our web browser, offline and online!
Check out the impressive features presented on the video. The content copy from other applications like Excel into the calendar and the other way arround seems to me extremelly well developed, dont you think? Well just check the video out… and of course register for a beta account! I did!
My favority feature is the paper sync, but you really have to see the video!

Some days ago in a meeting people talked about the lack of a good webservice that allowed everybody to share their calendars, today I just tried the 30Boxes approach, first impressions are great, specially the part where it got this blog rss feed and my flickr and Sapo photos, and integrated them into my calendar, nicely done, indeed. They seem to be working a lot with sharing and importing/exporting stuff, so give them some time and your support!

I personally liked a lot their simplified introduction method: you just type phrases and the system pretty much guesses the rest!

As you can attest by reading the offical announcement, there were a lot of improvements and house cleaning, To me, as bricolage system administrator and developer they are a few, very important ones, I would like to summarize here… Read the rest of this entry »

Lately I’ve became quite a fan of del.icio.us, just a little more since António showed me a prototype of an Ajax Interface alternative to the one del.icio.us provides by default, it’s called Del.icio.us Director, and besides being a super cool usage of Ajax technology it does raises the user experience, even using it becames as simple as selecting a bookmark!
Note: For those of you who (still) don’t know del.icio.us, keep reading for a brief, and personal explanation about it..
