FlyakiteOSX, is a yet another transformation pack for Windows XP, lately seems that there are a lot of people out there that wish to experience the MacOSX interface.. without having to buy a mac. I could say a whole about why you should by a Mac, especially now that the new MacIntel’s are a reality, but I’ll restrain myself and just talk about this transformation pack.
According to it’s creators, FlyakiteOSX is able to transform an ordinary Windows XP+ to resemble the looks of a MacOSX. Basically what it does is theme the all thing up, from cursors, sounds, visual styles, etc.
You should really give it a try, and may be, I mean MAY BE you’ll understand why I’m using macs…

It’s one of those unexpected findings! Today when I arrived at work the usual television in the boss’s office had been replaced by a nice plasma screen, pretty much everybody notice the huge package left on the hall, so you couldn’t actually manage to pass it without noticing it. Anyway, later on that that, as the tribe suspected Celso connected it to his mac mini, well we thought there it goes, we had a Apple Media Center at work, but not only did he wanted that, we wanted to get the plasma to keep constantly showing off information about SAPO portal, stuff like stats, latest photos uploaded, latest queries, etc, but we search over the net for something that might do the trick, nothing!
That’s when I figured out that in my laptop I had the answer: Quartz Composer, this little application that comes with XCode (Developer/Applications/Graphic Tools) does a hell of a job and pretty much easy to get into too!

It’s official, the new iPod plays video as well as pictures and music, can we still called it an music player? I consider mine much more than that already and it doesn’t play video! Commuting could be even greater with some lost episodes of Galatica for instance, right David?
The new iMac, comes with an isight camera integraded and a remote control! My uncle would kill to have is iMac have this little last feature, he often uses is super sized iMac to whatch DVD’s with his wife and kid, a remote is just what he’s missing! It would be nice if they sold it separeatly, right? Hum.. I might just have an idea for a christmas gift here!
Now, is it my impression or this “Front row” thing seems offelly similar to a media center? Hum.. I wonder what they might be cooking for christmas, next year!!
I’ve just attended the “Building of Basecamp” workshop, by 37signals, and after writing about it, I had to write about SubEthaEdit, specially the results of having 5 guys with a mac with this little program.
Just the day before Melo had been talking to me, that it would be a nice idea to use SubEthaEdit to take notes together (this little application allows people to edit simultaneous, in a real-time environment, one same document, writing down you made which changes, read more about it on it’s site here).
When we got the conference we were just about to start when we realized that a guy, named Nathanael Obermayer already had the same idea, so we just joined his shared document! Super! Me, André and Melo started taking down notes all-together. By the time the coffee-break happened Magnus Rembold joined us, making us a team of five taking down notes about the workshop. It was a memorable experience, with an incredible result: a 1300 lines document with all the notes you can imagine about this workshop. One incredible thing was that when the guys put up a new slide, it would take more than a couple of seconds to have it all.
Just to get an idea about what I’m talking about, the final result are a bunch of lines that looks like this:

the colors show who wrote it, so as you can see this simple paragraph was written for 3 different persons, each completing eachother.
We just agreed no to share the document, since it’s so rich about what happened there, it wouldn’t be correct for the guys at 37signals. Never the less, it was an incredibly experience in collaborative working, and I looking forward to see it working during Reboot.
